From The Eagles Nest ……. Part 6

- Heartbreak is something Uncle Zoki is not accustomed too. In a season with more twist and turns than a pig on a spit, APWE have succumbing to back-to-back losses in as many weeks. Uncle Zoki has turned from the eternal pessimist to a typical APWE supporter who attributes our fantastic start to the season on nothing more than ladies luck. Macedonia Park it was, the scene of the modern-day robbery. Half a dozen missed chances left the APWE faithful ruing and Uncle Zoki ducking for cover.
- White Eagles most capped player David Graovac is set to make his comeback to the first team this weekend after a few weeks off due to marital commitments. This will in effect put a stop to Andrej Gacesa shanking penalties during crucial matches.
- The number of skilful Brazilian strikers at Terry Reserve is set to increase to 1 after it was revealed mid-week that Marcos Vinicius Barbosa will be joining the APWE setup for a weeks trial.
- In a bid to stop constant media write up’s of PK Steelworkers FC’s young gun, Mark Picciolini received special attention from known hard-man Norm Wicker. Sick of seeing pictures of the young gun in action against 2nd rate opposition, Norm ensured that the striker spent the majority of time checking his pockets for loose change throughout the Eagles 4-0 thumping of PK Steelworkers FC.
- In other footballing news around Illawarra, ex-Eagle Alin Fina is set to wear his numerous White Eagles tracksuits at Wollongong Olympic training sessions for the duration of the year.
- In a barbarian-type performance, Bobbi Toskovski silenced his critics with a clinical 25m free kick that helped APWE secure all 3 points in a key encounter with Port Kembla over the weekend. APWE officials received a text message minutes after the goal, from non-other than Billy Boskovski impersonator George Halifax to congratulate Toshka on his wonderful strike. Uncle Zoki had the pleasure of breaking the news to Toshka which in turn brought a tear to his eye.
- Just to confirm the obvious, 68 year old ex-Socceroo Zoran Ilic will not be signing for APWE to the disappointment of long time comrade Roger Milosevski.
