From the Eagles Nest………. Part 8
Posted on July 4th, 2008
FINALLY…….Friday night football at Terry Reserve. Uncle Zoki has been crying out for the past month only to see his voice muffled out by the berated ramblings of White Eagles Fans Corner Assistant President Miso Dobre. It was a rant worthy of contention as one of the most memorable displays at Terry Reserve since Saso Dimovski scored that spectacular curling left foot free kick to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead over PK Steelworkers FC only for them to concede 5 goals in the final 10 minutes thus face relegation to the less fancied Conference League back in 2003. One hand in his pocket, the other hand grasping a VB, greasy chips and constant complaining led to one of the most vocal performances of the lifelong White Eagles supporter to date.
Much has been said about White Eagles Junior Vice Assistant Coach Tony Sekulovski over the past weeks. The bullish ex-midfielder who uses more hair products than Bastian Schweinsteiger has been the Eagles unsung hero of late. Credit must go to Seko who has helped to instil a winning and disciplined attitude at Terry Reserve.
Jordan Lando will be out for a couple weeks following an injury he sustained whilst practising goal celebrations after training
Come July, Eagles hardman Norm Wicker is usually sipping Latte’s on the sideline after having picked up more than his fair share of yellow tickets. Norm’s unique brand of international peace-keeping has gone unnoticed by fellow referees and has ensured that the White Eagles have the best defensive record in the league with only 10 goals conceded in 14 games.
